Nikki comes across as your average suburban girl in the 1980’s, loves Dirty Dancing, Madonna, bubblegum etc., except there’s one difference. She was born into one of the most notorious crime families in Franklin City. Her great grandfather, once a member of the Camorra in Naples, Italy – fled to the United States after the murder of a rival gang member from Palermo.
Her father Richie, got his start in organized crime at the age of 12 running numbers for one of the major crime families in Franklin. By the time Nikki was born, he was already a “made man” and quickly on track to becoming captain of his own crew.
Nikki went to private schools for most of her life, finishing HS at a prestigious Catholic School where she excelled at soccer, volleyball, and cross country. She also had fantastic grades and captained the debate team her senior year with an enthusiasm not often seen in the roles.
And although she excelled at all these things, and was popular and quite attractive from most accounts, what she wanted most was to sing. Sing in big arenas for thousands of people just like Maddona on the “Who’s That Girl Tour”.
And so she declined scholarships to prestigious Ivy League university to attend the very public Franklin City University. FCU didn’t boast the sports or academics that many other colleges did, but it was known to have the absolute best music and film program in the entire region.
